EVERYONE’S A WINNER!

By Jo Moon
I was watching a race recently, but not really watching it. I was in the race myself yet not deliberately.

I was trundling down from a cliff on my bike and ended up cycling down a small road which happened to be hosting a local half marathon event, unbeknown to me! It was apparent a race was going on as lots of people were running or jogging with numbers on their backs.

What struck me was the people standing at the edges, on the pavements, waving the runners on and shouting out lots of encouragement and congratulations. As I cycled passed them they seemed to be cheering me on too. I could feel the excited, congratulatory energy coming off them and I felt inspired. People kept saying ‘well done!’ as I passed by. They threw bottles of water at the runners and smiled great encouragement all along the way.

There were those in funny costumes, some looking worn out and barely able to plod on any further, some still smiling and others looking troubled and suffering a bit. There were fit looking people and others who seemed more fragile. But all were determined to reach the Finish line. Everyone carried on no matter what. All were commended for their efforts.

I had been experiencing a difficult period myself over the previous few weeks. As I cycled along the runners route, not sure where else to ride my bike, I felt I was being applauded and congratulated as if by some higher force. Maybe the angels wanted to include me in all this and communicate their gratitude to me in some way. After all, those in higher dimensions do wish to communicate with us, give us guidance, reassurance and love, and this can come to us in many different ways.

Today I saw an elderly man swim in the sea and then edge himself out over the rough pebbles looking bitterly cold.
I wanted to commend him on his surprising act and told him how brave he was. He looked up from his trembling body and beamed all over his face. He needed such encouragement. He told me he did this every day. At the moment in the UK it is cold, wet and overcast. I was wearing a winter coat, furry boots and woolly hat. That’s why I felt this man was being brave!

Everyone deserves congratulating on a regular basis for all the difficult things we manage to deal with, for even the smallest of achievements in a day. We are all deserving and we are all achieving something in our daily lives.

If you made someone smile
If you ate healthily all day
If you helped a child feel good about themselves
If you smiled and laughed despite everything
If you tried to help another
If you connected to the plant kingdom
If you cried and knew it was for the best
If you were able to be yourself totally for just one day
If you expressed yourself through talking, dancing, writing, drawing, painting, drumming, sculpture, caring, playing, making music, making a floral decoration
If you meditated, prayed, chanted, did yoga, qi-gong, tai-chi or any spiritual practice
If you healed a part of yourself
If you dreamed a dream and made at least part of it happen
If you gave up alcohol, smoking, drugs or any addiction
If you dared to say what you really believed in despite the reactions of others
If you baked a healthy cake or made a meal for yourself or others in love
If you swam, jogged, cycled, ran, trotted on a horse, skied down a mountain, climbed a hill, walked a long distance, walked a short distance
If you were the only one dancing
If you hugged someone who needed a hug
If you suggested a group hug
If you made a pledge to help the world, 1 person, yourself or another
If you made a decision to be healthy
If you cried a last tear and said you wanted something new
If you learnt to have faith in God, your guardian angel or some other guiding spiritual force
If you dared to be different from the rest
If you dared to speak up when something was wrong
If you lit a candle and said a prayer
If you made something beautiful by your very presence
If you offered warmth and comfort to another
If you set yourself a challenge and made it half way or just some of the way
If you found a beautiful flower
If you found love inside your heart
If you received love
If you gave love
If you chose to be environmentally minded
If you played with a child
If you listened to someone
If you helped someone in any way
If you chose to act out of love
If you made the first step towards something new
If you gave away something you no longer needed
If you gave a gift

If you did any of these today or anything else significant you have achieved a great deal! You are deserving of the best and you are always loved, no matter what, by God and many of those around you.

Congratulations and well done just for being you! Keep going with it and don’t let anyone stop you from expressing exactly who you are. Because you are important. You have a divine role in this world and many other things would not happen or exist if it were not for you.

We are all parts of one big jigsaw. And within this, if we were to look closely, is the big picture. And that picture will give us many clues as to who we really are and what our function is in the world.
