You carried me
Across the sea-bed
Without a tail
Placed me on the hearth
Of a cave fire
My tail grew longer
I flipped and frolicked
Until I was ready
For water once more
There you stood
Beckoning me
Calling me back
I was gone now
Call me back
At your will
I am famished
Starving for sea-life
Sea creatures, water
You gave me none
Of this
Only salty air
And a fire that glowed
Silently into the night
Until you and I took flight
Go now and be gone
The tides are moving on now
To brighter places
New faces arrive
I am a warm fish
Riding with the ocean waves
